Agenda Text
The Board is requested to recognize this award presented to Durham County Government and IS&T by The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo).

Durham County has again been selected as a Top 10 Digital County for its population category, 250,000 - 499,000. County was recognized by The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) as they announced the winners of the 18th annual Digital Counties Survey. The highly competitive survey, conducted by CDG in partnership with NACo, identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties, including initiatives that streamline delivery of government services, encourage open data, collaboration and shared services, enhance cybersecurity and contribute to disaster response and recovery efforts.

This year, Durham County came in as the #3 digital county in the nation for the population category. Last year, DCo tied with this year's #1, Chesterfield County, for the #2 spot. Within the comprehensive award application, IS&T received recognition for its efforts to mitigate the effects of COVID-19, while restoring IT services crippled as a result of a March ransomware attack.

Your acknowledgement of this recognition for Durham County Government and IS&T is appreciated!
