The Board is requested to proclaim October as “Cybersecurity Awareness Month” in Durham County. Cybersecurity Awareness Month was established by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in October 2004. The theme for 2020 is Do Your Part #BeCyberSmart and the goal of this observance is to help empower organizations and citizens to learn how to take ownership of protecting their part of cyberspace.
