The Board is requested to receive a presentation on the 2023 City-County Resident Survey results. Durham County has partnered with the City of Durham to conduct a resident survey for the ninth consecutive year. The survey, which was conducted in late Fall 2023, presents information about service quality and resident prioritization of services. This data, which includes trends from the past several years, will be used to help our Durham County departments make service improvements in the spirit of responding to the emerging needs of our residents. The survey also enables Durham County to compare itself to other, similar-sized communities across our state and our nation.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: The Resident Survey aligns with and supports the effective implementation of all five goals of Durham County’s Strategic Plan.
Resource Persons: Deborah Craig-Ray, Chief Communications Officer; and Jason Morado, Director of Community Research (ETC Institute).
County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board receive the presentation on the 2023 Resident Survey and pose any questions they wish for further explanation.
