The Board is requested to authorize the County Manager to amend the contract with Hayti Reborn - Justice Movement to appropriate funds allocated for the initiative to $1,000,000 for FY 2024-25. Hayti Reborn - Justice Movement provides coordinated programmatic support and systems-level strategies in partnership with the community to promote resident and community safety and prosperity.
In FY 2022, the Board of County Commissioners, in a collaborative effort with the City of Durham, partnered to expand investments in community-based programming focusing on justice-involved individuals. One of the joint investments included funding to support the Hayti Reborn - Justice Movement (HR-JM). In FY 2024-25, the Board of County Commissioners approved $1,000,000 to support continued programming. The City of Durham will allocate $1,000,000 to HR-JM in FY 2024-25.
Funding is targeted to support 150 program participants.
