The Board is requested to receive a presentation on the recent activities of Aging Well Durham (AWD), including the 2024 Durham Comprehensive Aging Plan. The mission of AWD is to promote collaborative efforts to build a safe, affordable, accessible, connected and inclusive community for aging adults in Durham. AWD convenes ongoing livability groups to update, implement, monitor and evaluate Durham's Comprehensive Aging Plan. The presentation includes goals, strategies and lead agencies for the 2024 Durham Comprehensive Plan and examples of how the plan aligns with Durham County’s strategic goals.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This work aligns with Strategic Goal 2: Health and Well-being for All by providing support and lifelong learning opportunities for adults, working toward recovery and return to healthy lives for people in crisis, and building stronger relationships with the Durham community.
