The Board is requested to proclaim Durham County as a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community.
On behalf of the nonprofit organization, Breastfeed Durham, we are submitting proclamation that acknowledges Durham County as a breastfeeding family friendly community that welcomes nursing families in the community, and supports breastfeeding, chest-feeding, and human milk feeding practices. This proclamation has been updated to reflect the recommended ten steps to becoming a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community established by the Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community initiative.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with the Strategic Goal: Healthy and Inclusive Community

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board proclaim Durham County as a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community.
