The Board is requested to approve Budget Amendment Ordinance No. 25BCC074 Cooperative Extension to recognize $3,787.00 in additional Smart Start Welcome Baby Funding to Support the Program through the Remainder of the Fiscal Year
The Durham County Cooperative Extension - Welcome Baby Program receives partial funding from Smart Start through Durham’s Partnership for Children. This program supports Durham families with children ages 0-17 by providing positive parenting workshops, safe sleep education, car seat safety, and direct services such as the Giving Closet, which serves an average of 100-120 children per week. The additional funds increase the amount to the funds that Welcome Baby had originally requested for FY25.
