Agenda Text
The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 25BCC081 Cooperative Extension to recognize $3,423 from the Briggs Avenue Fall Festival plant sale for Briggs Avenue Community Garden Program Expenses.
Cooperative Extension staff and volunteers held a Briggs Avenue Fall Festival on September 7, 2024 to provide community garden education, demonstrations, compost give-a-way, and a plant sale of plants grown by volunteers at Briggs Avenue Community Garden to provide additional support for the program. The plants were priced to provide high-quality garden plants to the community at a modest price to enable community members to grow their own season-appropriate food. Funds raised will be utilized to support garden expenses, such as plants, seeds, tools, and other materials necessary for operating the garden.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with multiple goals of the County Strategic Plan to provide community education and engagement in community garden programming: Empowered Community and Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment.
