The Board is requested to issue a proclamation recognizing March as National Social Work Month and to recognize Social Workers dedication to improving human health & well-being, living conditions, and enhancing the basic needs of all people, especially the most vulnerable through their “Compassion & Action”.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: Each year March is set aside to celebrate and recognize the Social Work Profession. Since the 19th century, Social Workers have been essential to the community well-being, helping people address personal and systemic barriers for optimal living. This request aligns with: High Performing Organization - develop, retain, recruit diverse, qualified, and knowledgeable staff.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board approve the Proclamation declaring March National Social Work Month in Durham County.
