The Board is requested to receive a report on the County’s Small Business Development efforts.
Background
Strong small businesses create stronger communities. Through meaningful partnerships with the City of Durham and non-profit organizations, Durham County can support entrepreneurs as they navigate resources, access contracting opportunities, and build capacity for long-term success. Connecting businesses to the region’s economic opportunities will strengthen Durham’s business community, support job creation, and contribute to our community’s continued economic growth.
Staff will provide a presentation on the initial results of a recent survey that was distributed to small businesses. The results will help guide the County and its partners as we prepare for a Summit for Small Business in the Spring of 2027.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board receives the presentation on Small Business Development outreach.
