The Board is requested to recognize Pam Jordan, Administrative Officer for Cooperative Extension, for receiving the 2024 Distinguished Service Award from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Administrative Professionals Association (NCCEAPA).
At the annual conference of the NCCEAPA in Asheville on September 9, Pam Jordan received a district-level Distinguished Service Award for the North Central District, one of five Extension districts in the state. The district winners were considered for the statewide Distinguished Service Award. Pam Jordan was selected as the winner of the State Distinguished Service Award.
The NCCEAPA Distinguished Service Award recognizes exemplary leadership, service, and high ethical standards to an individual who provides inspiration to others in the North Carolina Cooperative Extension community and members of the NCCEAPA. The winner is selected based on outstanding contributions through excellent administrative management, professionalism, innovation, customer service, advancement of skills and knowledge, active involvement in the NCCEAPA, and projecting a positive image of Cooperative Extension and the county office to clientele and community partners.
Her nomination stated, “Pam Jordan is a remarkable colleague and leader among staff. She is
committed to her profession, her colleagues in our county, district, and across the state, and to our Durham Community. She has both purpose and passion for her role and has a unique understanding and value for the indispensable nature of the work she does. The entire Durham County Center supports this nomination.”
Working at Cooperative Extension since 2003, Pam Jordan has been a member of the NCCEAPA for 21 years and has served in multiple leadership positions at the district and state levels and is currently the 2nd Vice President for the state association. She has also served on county committees, including the Health and Wellness Committee and the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) Task Force. Pam is valued for her institutional knowledge and using that knowledge to inform our work today, including innovating new ways of doing the work. She uniquely understands the power of that knowledge to be shared to support our advancement and growth, while also making sure we retain and advance our connections through our history.
