2. North Carolina New SUN Bucks Program - Families with school age children may be eligible for the Sun Bucks program this summer. Students that attend a participating school and already receive SNAP/EBT (FNS), Medicaid/SHIP, or are in foster care are automatically enrolled. Families that filled out a free/reduced lunch form for the 2023-2024 school year and qualified to receive free/reduced lunch will also receive a card. Those that attend a participating school that uses the community eligibility provision (all students eat lunch for free) and are not on SNAP/EBT (FNS), Medicaid/SHIP, or in foster care must fill out an application online or through a paper application at their school. Families can apply at the Sun Bucks website <https://www.ncdhhs.gov/sunbucks> when the application opens in May.
