1.                     Early Voting for the Municipal General Election Ends on Nov. 1 - Early Voting for the 2025 Municipal General Election runs through 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. There are five early voting locations - North Regional, East Regional, South Regional, NCCU Turner Law Building, and the Durham County Board of Elections main office at 3825 S. Roxboro Street. 2.                     Potential Disruption to Food & Nutrition Benefits - The Durham County Department of Social Services has received notices from state and federal agencies that IF the government shutdown continues, there may be a disruption in food and nutrition benefits in November. We know how important these benefits are to you and your family. DCoDSS will continue to process applications and recertifications as normal. 3.                     End Hunger Durham Resources - End Hunger Durham is a local agency with a complete and current listing of food banks and pantries in our community. Visit <https://endhungerdurham.org> to see a real-time listing and map of locations.

 

4.                     Feedback Wanted for Durham Bus Rapid Transit Vision Plan - The Durham County Transportation Department is seeking community input on the development of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Vision Plan to ensure it reflects local priorities. There will be two in person sessions (Thursday, Oct. 30, 3-5 p.m. at Main Library and Thursday, Nov. 6, 5-7 p.m. at Durham Station) as well as a virtual session (Tuesday, Nov. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More info can be found at <https://durhambrtvision.com>

 

5.                     County to Host Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 10 - Everyone is invited to attend the 14th Annual Durham County Veterans Day Recognition and Celebration Program at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10. Hosted by the Durham County Veteran Services Department this annual event will be held at 414 E. Main St in Conference Rooms A-C. The theme for this year’s event is “Loyalty and Service: Honoring All Who Served.”

 

6.                     Most DCo Offices to Close for Veterans Day - Most Durham County Government offices will close in observance of the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
