The Board is requested to recognize Gudrun Parmer for receiving the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for her 25 years of outstanding service, dedication, and leadership as the Director of Durham County’s Criminal Justice Resource Center. Gudrun has distinguished herself in her work with the justice system not just within Durham County but across the country. Mrs. Parmer is regarded as one of the foremost experts on transformational and innovative programs and practices in all areas of criminal justice reform. Thanks to Gudrun Parmer’s life work, Durham County’s Justice Services Department (formerly CJRC) is a national model.
