The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No.26BCC032 recognizing $140,000 from the Department of Justice’s FY25 Community Policing Development Microgrants, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) to the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.
The Durham County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) will use the funding to develop and market videos, PSAs, and mobile applications to maximize reach, showcasing the diverse roles and positive impact of the local law enforcement. By working with a full-service marketing agency who provides analytics on the deliverables, DCSO will be able to track who sees the messaging and when. PSAs will include calls to action and connect back to programs and services.
