Request for Board Action:
Agenda Text
The Board is requested to approve a contract with Stryker for the purchase of three (3) Power-LOAD units that will equip three (3) new Braun ambulances. The Office of Emergency Services (OES) will utilize existing capital budget funds for EMS equipment replacement in the amount of $89,999.99 utilizing Sole Source Exemption.
In 2021, the OES - Emergency Medical Services acquired Stryker stretchers and Power-LOAD systems, deploying them across all EMS ambulances. At that time, several ambulances were permanently out of service due to mechanical failures and were scheduled for replacement. Consequently, Power-LOAD units were not installed in these decommissioned vehicles. Due to substantial supply chain delays, the replacements have been postponed until FY25. As a result, OES - EMS now requires the purchase of three additional Stryker Power-LOAD units for the new ambulances anticipated to arrive in the third quarter of FY25.
