The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 25BCC048 recognizing $180,000 of a grant award to the Durham County Library and to authorize the County Manager to sign and execute the Subaward Agreement between North Carolina Central University and Durham County Library, creating three (3) provisional FTEs.
The NCCU Digital Equity Leadership Program (DELP) is designed to "address the lack of
broadband access, connectivity, adoption, and equity at NCCU and surrounding anchor communities. The Budget Amendment in the amount of $180,000 will cover salaries, benefits and other expenditures through October 14th, 2025. The purpose of the program is to provide sustainable digital literacy programming and one on one assistance to members of the community who need to improve their computer skills.
Durham County Library has proposed to hire three provisional FTE Senior Library Assistants, increasing Durham County Library's authorized FTE strength from 144.38 to 147.38.
The County Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the subaward agreement document.
