The Board is requested to authorize the County Manager to submit a signed letter confirming the Board’s support of Lincoln Community Health Center’s application for Section 330 federal funding.

 

Lincoln Community Health Center LCHC is a non-profit community health center that has been providing accessible, affordable, high quality, patient focused primary care for more than fifty years.  Current clinic statistics confirm that 97% of LCHC patients have incomes at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines and 51% are uninsured (Attachment 2).

 

The primary form of federal funding for Community Health Centers like (LCHC) is the Health Center Program as authorized in Section 330 of the Public Health Services Act (42 U.S. Code §254b <https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title42-section254b&num=0&edition=prelim>).

 

The letter of support is an essential component of LCHC’s application for the Service Area Competition Grant for Community Health Center and Healthcare for the Homeless funding (Attachment 3).
