The Board is requested to suspend the rules and approve the statutorily required bonds of the Sheriff, Tax Administrator, Chief Financial Officer, and Register of Deeds.
Per the General Statues of North Carolina, certain public officials are required to be bonded to ensure the faithful performance of the duties of their office. The attached bonds are for the required public officials of Durham County and in the necessary amounts. These bonds are renewed annually and are required to be brought to the Board for review and approval at the first meeting in December. Following approval and certification, the bonds will be recorded in the Register of Deeds Office and then filed with the Clerk of Superior Court.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board suspend the rules and approve the statutorily required bonds of the Sheriff, Tax Administrator, Chief Financial Officer, and Register of Deeds.
