The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 26BCC046 to recognize $28,899 in the Department of Social Services for the PEAS Project (Providing Elders Additional Sustenance).
The PEAS Project is funded through the State Fiscal Recovery Fund and awarded to Social Services via Central Pines Regional Council for the grant period July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. The program provides nutritional support to eligible older adults who are frail or functionally impaired. Participants will receive either two meals per week, or grocery assistance valued at twenty dollars ($20.00) per week, depending on the number of weeks in the month. There is no local match requirement for this grant. The program is designed to support food security and improve overall well-being for this vulnerable population.
