The Board is requested to approve Public Health’s request to create a 1.0 FTE Community Health Worker position. This is a grant funded position and requires no additional county funding. The funding for this position is budgeted within Public Health’s FY 2024-25 budget.
The grant-funded Community Health Worker will support access to women’s health services and improve the cultural competence of service delivery in the DCoDPH Women’s Health Clinic using the grant funds from NC DHHS Division of Public Health’s Women, Infant, and Community Wellness Section. This funding is expected to be available through FY26-27.
Please note that this amendment requires no additional County funds.
The Board of Health has approved this amendment.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This grant aligns with Strategic Goal 2: Health and Well-being for All by providing more resources for women’s health services.
