The Board is requested to authorize the County Manager to award a contract to Innovative Emergency Management (IEM) in the amount of $99,853 to develop and provide a completed Joint City and County Crisis Communications Plan, applicable training and workshops that outline a clear and concise communications strategy during emergencies, disasters, and crisis events. IEM is the selected vendor following a competitive bid process.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Durham County’s Strategic Goal: Safe and Resilient Community.
Resource Persons: Nate Sanders, Office of Emergency Services Deputy Chief of Emergency Management and Mark Lockhart, Office of Emergency Services Director.
County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board authorize the County Manager to award a contract to Innovative Emergency Management in the amount of $99,853 to develop and provide a completed Joint City and County Crisis Communications Plan, applicable training and workshops that outline a clear and concise communications strategy during emergencies, disasters, and crisis events.
