The Board is requested to recognize a $1.5 million grant award to the Engineering and Environmental Services - Sustainability Division from the US Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Competitive Program to create and implement the Energy Burden and Emissions Reduction Program (EBERP).

 

EBERP is a new program to provide energy efficiency retrofits and limited home repair to low-to-moderate income households in Durham, Orange, and Granville Counties over a 3-year period. 

 

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Durham County’s Strategic Goals: Healthy & Inclusive Community, Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment, and Regional Leadership.
