Agenda Text
The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No.27BCC015 Public Health to Recognize $15,000 from the North Carolina Department of Public Health for the Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health Grant for Family Matters Durham
This funding represents an increase in NCDHHS funding for Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health initiative. The Department of Public Health’s Family Matters Durham (FMD) program works to improve birth outcomes by providing preconception and interconception health prior to pregnancy during reproductive years, reduce infant mortality by promoting and supporting human milk feeding for all families, and improve the overall health status of children ages 0-5. The $15,000 of additional funding will bring the total funds allocated to the Improving Community Outcomes for Maternal and Child Health grant to $465,000 for the 26-27 fiscal year.
The Board of Health has approved this amendment.
