The Board is requested to proclaim the week of February 22-26, 2021 as “Black Entrepreneurship Week” as requested by officials of Carolina Small Business Development Foundation. This week of speakers and workshops, conducted virtually, is designed to support the vibrancy of our local businesses owned by persons of color. Representatives of CSBDF will be available to provide more detailed information about the event.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Goal 1: Community and Family Prosperity
Resource Persons: Brenda Howerton, Chair, Durham Board of County Commissioners
County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board issue the proclamation recognizing February 22-26, 2021 as “Black Entrepreneurship Week” to sponsors of the event, along with sincere congratulations.
