Request for Board Action:
Agenda Text
The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment 27BCC021 Appropriating $25,000 of Eno Fire Tax District Fund Balance to purchase a new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck to be used as a response and utility vehicle. Eno Fire and Emergency Services Inc. has requested this fund balance distribution to support the procurement of a new response and utility vehicle. Eno Fire and Emergency Services Inc. provides fire, rescue and emergency services for approximately 2 square miles of western Durham County and responds to 20 calls in the area on average annually. These funds will be distributed to the district at their request and used to fund a portion of the vehicle purchase ($42,617.40) and upfit costs ($9,741.25). Vehicle upfit will be performed by Mincey’s Graphics and in-house by Eno Fire and Emergency Services Inc. members. The remaining funding for the purchase will be provided by Eno Fire and Emergency Services Inc.

These funds are in a county-held fund balance for the district. Distribution of this amount complies with Finance’s fiscal policies and ensures that the remaining balance reserve level is sufficient for future needs.

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Durham County Focus Area 3: Safe and Resilient Community Initiative 2a: Innovate and strengthen emergency response and prevention systems
