The Board is requested to proclaim September as National Recovery Month.
September is National Recovery Month from mental and substance use disorders. The Recovery Community of Durham is planning an event to celebrate that people do recover and go on to lead meaningful and purposeful lives. This event is free and open to the public. We will have inspiring speakers, information and representation from area providers, music/dancing and information about local resources.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Strategic Plan Goal: Healthy & Inclusive Community.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board proclaim the month of September as National Recovery Month.
