The Board is requested to present Durham County’s concerns regarding the SNAP cost share requirement in H.R. 1 and to affirm the need for additional time to ensure effective implementation. The attached letter summarizes the financial and operational impacts on the Department of Social Services and emphasizes the importance of delaying the requirement to maintain program stability for Durham County residents.
Upon approval, the letter will be transmitted to our congressional delegation to communicate these concerns and the need for a revised timeline.
