The Board is requested to proclaim June 19, 2024, as Juneteenth in Durham County. The purpose of the proclamation is to acknowledge and honor Juneteenth in Durham County, bringing awareness to the history of Juneteenth in the United States in the Unites States and in Durham County. We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and understanding within Durham County. Together, we strive to acknowledge, learn from, and appreciate the diverse narratives that shape our collective history.
