The Board is requested to approve Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant Offer 3-37-0056-070-2024 in the amount of $35,478,766.00 on behalf of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. The grant funds will be utilized to cover the costs of shifting Runway 5L-23R Phase 3, Early Works - Grading and Drainage. The grant is fully comprised of discretionary monies and has been reviewed and approved by Mr. Michael Landguth, President and CEO of the Authority.
Under the Airport Improvement Program, the FAA requires Durham County, along with Wake County and the cities of Durham and Raleigh, to approve grant agreements made by the FAA.
