The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 27BCC036 to recognize $4,000 in additional funding for the Justice Services Department from the Durham Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board for the Durham Recovery Court. The Durham Recovery Court is an evidence-based approach to assisting individuals with substance use disorders. Recovery Court is a multi-disciplinary approach to providing treatment, frequent and random drug testing and counseling to reduce recidivism.
JSD anticipated $65,000 for FY 2026-27 during the budget submission process. JSD actually received $69,000 in funding from the ABC Board. This amendment will recognize the additional $4,000.
