The Board is requested to approve a contract with Schneider Electric in the amount of $774,045.00 to upgrade the building automation system. Schneider Electric was selected because the system is sole proprietary. Schneider Electric will provide all the removal of old equipment and the installation of the new controls. The new controls will make the system more environmentally friendly. We will be able to access the system via IP address, giving us easier access to make the necessary changes to equipment in these buildings for customer comfort.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board authorize the County Manager to enter into contract with Schneider Electric in the amount of $774,045.00 to upgrade the Building Automation System in the HHS building and the Courthouse. The County Manager also recommends the Board to allow the County Manager to sign off on subsequent extensions, change orders, or amendments associated with this contract as necessary to continue service as required as long as funds are available in the CIP Programs.
