The Board is requested to approve to recognize $61,596 in revenue from two sources:

Governor's Crime Commission Grant: $56,246 to provide gang prevention services in Durham County and Seattle City Auditor's Office contract: $5,350 to provide consultation to a youth violence/gang prevention program in Seattle.

The grants are to provide gang intervention services to 170 youth between the ages of 10-17 during FY 2014-15 in Durham County. The contract with the Seattle City Auditor's Office is billable based upon consultant work performed for the City of Seattle's Youth Violence Prevention Initiative in the areas of developing an integrated client case management tracking and reporting system, and assisting with development of Memorandums of Understanding between two participating agencies by Project BUILD's Director, Michelle Young.

The budget for these funds is attached.

ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: The grant funding and contract align with Goal One (Community and Family Prosperity and Enrichment) and Goal Three (Safe and Secure Community) by providing educational and social support for middle school youth who are at high risk of dropping out of school and involvement in criminal activity and gangs.
