The Board is requested to hear the results of the 2014 County Cares Campaign in which Durham County employees donated a total of $77,076.00 to be distributed to eleven (11) non-profit organizations that service the Triangle Community. These organizations were selected, first by an application process, and secondly, an internal, online voting process open to County Employees only.
The County Cares Campaign Committee is comprised of representatives from each County Department. The 2014 campaign ran from October 13 - November 14, 2014. Recognition of County departments and Durham County Cares Committee Members with outstanding performance during the 2014 campaign is also requested.
ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: The Durham County Cares Campaign has adopted the Durham County Government Strategic Plan Goals as the basis for its selection process. There are two (2) recipient organizations selected for four (4) of the Strategic Plan Goals. There is also a category titled "Multiple Area Services", which addresses multiple Strategic Plan Goals, as well as one organization labeled "Strategic Trailblazer", for its continued efforts to support our Strategic Plan Goals. The goals and applicable recipient organizations are as follows:
