The Board is requested to recognize the month of March as National Professional Social Work Month. For 100 years, Social Workers at Durham County DSS have elevated and empowered citizens in Durham County. This month is set aside to recognize the extraordinary contributions of Social Workers who are enhancing the well-being of the vulnerable, oppressed and those living in poverty.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: Goal 3: Safe Community

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board approve the proclamation declaring March National Professional Social Work Month in Durham County.
