The Board is requested to proclaim March 19th as Women in Public Office Day.
The National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) understand the hard work elected women dedicate each day. Passing landmark legislation and breaking down barriers is all within a day’s work. Because March is Women’s History Month, there is no better time to celebrate the accomplishments and selfless service of elected women, which is why NFWL launched this proclamation program at its 2017 Annual Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, celebrated with women on March 19, 2018 in 29 cities and municipalities and 17 states, and are continuing the initiative into 2019.
