The Board is requested to proclaim April 8 - 12, 2019 as The Week of the Young Child.
This Proclamation celebrates a national effort to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This observance recognizes that the ages of birth to 5 are the most critical time in children’s development, which builds the foundation for success in school and life. Our mission at Durham’s Partnership for Children is to ensure that every child in Durham enters school ready to succeed.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This proclamation aligns with Strategic Goal 1: community Empowerment and Enrichment
