The Board is requested to proclaim April 22-26, 2019 as “Durham Reentry Week.” In recent years, the criminal justice community nationwide has come together each April to shine a light on the work of the community and faith-based groups to support individuals returning home from prison. The Governor has declared this week as “Reentry Week” for the State of North Carolina. The Criminal Justice Resource Center (CJRC) in conjunction with the Local Reentry Council will facilitate events during this week in recognition of “Reentry Week” in Durham, NC.
The Religious Coalition for a Non-Violent Durham and several other LRC involved agencies will host a series of events during the week designed to highlight services and supports for justice involved individuals in the Durham community.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board proclaim April 22-26, 2019 as “Durham Reentry Week.”
