The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 19BCC000045 to recognize funds in the amount of $20,757 from the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health for Maternal and Child Health Services in Durham County. These funds are to be used to purchase equipment, supplies, and incentives to support the Child Fatality Prevention Team (CFPT); offer racial equity training including purchasing reading materials and resources referenced in the Racial Equity Institute (REI) training that support continued learning; and provide training from Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) to internally operationalize equity into our work.
Please note that this amendment requires no additional County funds.
The Board of Health has approved this amendment.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This grant aligns with Strategic Goal 2: Health and Well-being for All by providing more resources to the Maternal Health Program.
