The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 19BCC000046 to recognize funds in the amount of $5,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health for Viral Hepatitis Prevention in Durham County. These funds are to be used to help cover the costs associated with venipuncture, sample handling fees, and baseline laboratory studies necessary to evaluate persons infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) for treatment.

 

Please note that this amendment requires no additional County funds.

 

The Board of Health has approved this amendment.

 

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This grant aligns with Strategic Goal 2: Health and Well-being for All by providing baseline laboratory studies before HCV treatment can be initiated.
