The Board is requested to approve Capital Project Amendment No. 19BCC000017 to move funds from the Collection System Rehabilitation Capital Project SE051 to the Stirrup Iron Creek Lift Station Capacity Improvements Capital Project SE056 in the amount of $123,429. The Board is also requested to authorize the County Manager to enter into a contract amendment to increase the existing construction contract with Carolina Civilworks (FR# 19-671) for the construction of the Stirrup Iron Pump Station Improvements (IFB 18-029) in the amount of $205,000, bringing the total contract amount from $897,280 to $1,102,280.
Alignment With Strategic Plan: This action is in accordance with Durham County Strategic Plan Goal 4: "Environmental Stewardship and Community Prosperity," as this project will ensure backup emergency power which will reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows. No additional policy impacts are expected as a result of this project.
