The Board is requested to approve a resolution in Support of North Carolina’s Working People and their Families. This resolution is intended to encourage our North Carolina lawmakers to work to enhance the quality of life for workers in all occupations by approving specific legislation that addresses an increased higher minimum wage, provision of paid family leave for those needing to take care of sick family members, the extension of the right to collective bargaining for public employees and the expansion of Medicaid coverage for eligible workers.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board approve the resolution and forward a copy to the members of the Durham Delegation.
