The Board is requested to proclaim and honor August 11-17, 2019 as Algonquin Week in Durham County. 

 

The Algonquin Tennis Club reached out to the broad black community during the era of segregation and helped to develop the tennis skills of many Durham youth.  

 

Durham County’s 24th State Historical Marker will be erected and unveiled on Thursday, August 15th at the W.D Hill Recreation Center on Fayetteville St.

 

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Goal 1: Community Empowerment and Enrichment.
