The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No.20BCC000013 appropriating fund balance in the General Fund in the amount of $125,000 for Jail Medical Care for detainees in the Durham County Detention Center.
FY-18-19 offsite medical costs exceeded the contracted capped expenses of $550,000 To honor the County’s total commitment, the requested funds ($125,000) will be added to the $25,000 that is budgeted to cover costs that exceed the $400,000 included in the contracted base amount.
The Board of Health has approved this amendment.
Alignment with Strategic Plan: This grant aligns with Strategic Goal 2: Health and Well-being for All by providing medical services to detainees in the Durham County Detention Center.
