The Board is requested to approve Budget Ordinance Amendment No. BCC000018 to recognize additional grant funds in the amount of $22,639 from Durham County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council to support Project BUILD.
When combined with existing budgeted grant funds, this brings the total grant funding for FY20-21 to $117,000. These funds will support work of Project BUILD - a multi-disciplinary gang intervention program that provides coordinated case management and services to youth and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 who are at high risk of gang involvement. In addition to already budgeted funds for salary, these additional funds will support supplies for weekly group sessions; training costs for the Project BUILD Supervisor and JCPC funded staff; printing supplies to describe Project BUILD work; tutoring and programming to support youth participants.
