The Board is requested to discuss legislative proposals suggested for consideration to proceed as part of the 2021 North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) Legislative Goals process. NCACC has initiated its process for approving statewide legislative goals for the 2021 General Assembly session. All proposals must be submitted to NCACC by September 30, 2020 and must be accompanied by a letter from the Chairman, an adopted resolution of the Board or a letter from an affiliate organization.
Proposed goals will be referred to the appropriate steering committee for consideration and review. The complete process will culminate in early 2021 with the membership adopting final goals at the Annual Legislative Conference. Staff requests that the Board review the proposals, discuss and direct staff. Final proposals will be placed on the September 14th agenda for approval.
