The Board is requested to receive information from Bull City United - which is typically shared the first week in January on the citywide week-long event recognized as the Week of Peace. 

 

The Week of Peace which is also known to bring community residents together and raise awareness about community safety and shootings.  The event is also a time of reflection and remembrance of lives lost in Durham County due to gun violence. As a result of special considerations and planning related to COVID, the event was held this year February 1-7, 2021, in accordance with CDC and local public health guidelines.

 

The event is scheduled next year for January 1-7, 2022.

 

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Goal 2: Community Health and Well-being.
