The Durham County Attorney seeks approval to contract with consultants to begin a process of training for the BOCC. The Robert Bobb Group (The RBG Team) has presented a proposal for preview. The proposal is designed to assist the Durham County Board of Commissioners in working more effectively. The RBG Team understands the desired outcomes for the Board and staff are (i) to be more efficient in policy deliberations and (ii) to have more effective communications between the Board and the staff concerning policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities. The overall desired result is to have a more effective and efficient County Government.
The proposal anticipates the Board and the Manager working in conjunction to conduct an assessment of the current state of matters, interpret the findings and then craft an implementation strategy. It is anticipated this process can be completed in eight (8) weeks or less.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board grant approval to the Durham County Attorney to contract with The Robert Bobb Group for training in the area of running an effective government.
