The Board is requested to issue a resolution celebrating Arab American Heritage Month for April 2024 in Durham County.
The purpose of the resolution is to acknowledge and honor Arab American Heritage Month in Durham County, bringing awareness and celebration to the experiences and contributions of Arab Americans in Durham County. Arab American Heritage Month has been nationally recognized and celebrated since 2023 in acknowledgement of the contributions, achievements, and influence of the estimated 3.7 million Americans in the United States with Arab roots We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and understanding within Durham County. Together, we strive to acknowledge, learn from, and appreciate the diverse narratives that shape our collective history.

County Manager’s Recommendation: The County Manager recommends that the Board issues a resolution celebrating Arab American Heritage Month for April 2024.
