Agenda Text

The Board is requested to issue a resolution acknowledging Lights Out Durham.

Lights Out Durham is a voluntary, educational program for citizens and businesses in Durham County to help protect birds during Spring and Fall migration by turning off unnecessary outside lights from 10 pm until 6 am.  This will not only save birds, but it will also save energy and money.  Durham County will join many other communities across the country in helping to protect birds during migration.

Alignment with Strategic Plan: This item aligns with Strategic Goal 4: Community Stewardship
